Baptism Information & Instructions
Thank you for your interest in being baptized at Bethany Road Bible Church. We would very much like for you to participate in our next baptism. This participation begins with you completing the Baptism Testimony and Personal Information Worksheets.
The testimony worksheet will help you confirm and clarify your story of faith in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. Guidelines for preparing your personal testimony for baptism are included in this baptism packet. If you have questions and would like to talk with someone, please email Krista Mulligan or call the church office to schedule an appointment.
We believe that Christian baptism by immersion in water is a public identification with Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Although baptism is not required for salvation, it is commanded of all believers and is for believers only (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:38, 41; Acts 18:8). Scripture shows that a person was baptized after personally receiving forgiveness of sin through accepting Jesus Christ. The waters of baptism are a symbol of our death, burial, and resurrection to newness of life that happens when we become a new creation in Christ (Colossians 2:12; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 6:1-4). To put it simply, baptism is an external sign of an internal reality. It unites the believer with the body of Christ in their public confession of faith in Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 12:13; Matt 10:32).
If you are ready to participate, please complete the worksheets in this packet and return them to the church office or an elder. Once received, we will be in contact with you to set up an informal meeting with one of the elders to allow you to share your testimony of faith in Christ.
We are looking forward to how God will strengthen your walk with Him and use you to build up others by your baptism.
On behalf of the elders,
Pastor Gary Lisle
