1. Evaluate how your parents raised you: assess their example with Scripture
2. You don't have to treat all your kids alike

4. There will be times when you will make your kids mad at you, but that's ok
5. There will be times when other adults will disagree with you, but that’s ok
6. It's well worth the inconvenience to have your house be the hangout house
7. Be the first to tell them about sex
8. Encourage plenty of spiritually nurturing activity
9. Don't expect them to get excited about things that don't excite you
10. You can’t do it all; set some biblical priorities and stick to them

2. NEGOTIATE - My Child Is My EQUAL
3. GIVE IN - My Child Is My GOD
4. THREATEN - My Child Is My ENEMY

b. INAPPROPRIATE Threats
Parenting Reminders:
1. Be a giver of GRACE
2. Be a speaker of TRUTH
3. Be engaged RELATIONALLY
4. Be intentional to TEACH God’s plan
5. Be intentional to DISCIPLINE God’s way
What about the issue of spanking?
